The Research University Consortium for the Advancement of the

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (RUCASTL)

In 2003, UIUC become a member of AAHE/Carnegie Foundation Academy Campus Program.  The mission of this program is to identify those institutions who seek to develop a scholarship of teaching that will improve student learning, enhance the practice and profession of teaching, and bring to teaching the recognition and reward afforded to other forms of scholarly work.

As a member of the Research University Consortium for the Advancement of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (RUCASTL), UIUC joins fourteen other institutions and disciplinary societies working toward building the scholarship of teaching and learning as an integral part of a research university’s identity and mission.
