Measurement and Evaluation (M&E) provides services and consultation to
faculty and the campus in the areas of instructor and course evaluation,
classroom testing and grading, student outcomes assessment, program
evaluation, and the scholarship of teaching and
learning.
The staff assists faculty and TAs in assessing their teaching, in
designing educational evaluations, and in conducting
classroom research that produces useful results. Some specific consultations available through Measurement
and Evaluation include ICES core revisions, online evaluations, and
other measurement and evaluation issues on request. M&E also provides
technical assistance for the Provost's Student Outcomes Assessment
Committee.

M&E Mission
Our mission is to evaluate both teaching and learning
in order to facilitate the improvement of instruction at UIUC.
We accomplish this mission through instructor
evaluation, exam/survey scoring and analysis, placement and proficiency
testing, and student outcomes assessment. In addition, we conduct
research in measurement and evaluation; and deliver outreach through
training, consultations, and publications.
