InDesign CS3 is a robust and easy-to-use page layout application. InDesign is
much more than a "PageMaker replacement" (Adobe is phasing out the PageMaker
program). InDesign is much easier to use, while at the same time is powerful
enough to produce sophisticated magazine and newspaper layouts, as well as
newsletters, brochures, mailers, and any other kind of document you wish to
create.
| The Level 1 workshop introduces InDesign to the new user. Among
the topics to be covered are: |
- The InDesign environment
- Basic document setup (creating text & working with graphics)
- Creating and applying master pages
- Importing and threading text
- Working with colors, swatches, and gradients
- Formatting type (character, paragraph, and styles)
- Working with graphics, text wrapping, and layers
- Applying transparency effects
- Creating, importing, and formatting tables
- Preparing to handoff to commercial printer
- Generating PDF files for Web output (including bookmarks)
