Microsoft ProjectManage your projects with confidence. If you're a manager or a planner, you can use powerful tools in Microsoft Project to track schedules and tasks, manage resources, and report project information easily and efficiently.
Project 2003, Level 1This course is the first in a series of two courses designed for individuals who will use Microsoft Project as a tool to assist them in managing projects. The topics in this course cover the critical skills necessary to create and modify a project plan file that contains tasks, resources, and resource assignments. In Level 1 you will create a project plan file containing tasks, organize these tasks in a work breakdown structure containing task relationships, create and assign resources, and finalize the project in order to implement the project plan. Upon successful completion of this course, attendees will be able to:
Project 2003, Level 2Build on the skills learned in Microsoft Project Level 1 by learning how to update tasks, resources and costs; check duration, work and cost variance; view project statistics; and work with various reporting features. Other topics covered will include working with multiple projects and creating custom forms, reports, and views. Upon successful completion of this course, attendees will be able to:
Project 2007, Level 1To plan a project you need to gather information about the various tasks involved and resources required to accomplish tasks, along with the overall cost. Project 2007 acts as a tool to assist you in managing your projects. In this six-hour course, you will create and modify a project plan where you will then organize tasks in a work breakdown structure containing relationships, create and assign resources, and finalize the project to implement the project plan.
Project 2007, Level 2This 6-hour course will build upon the knowledge gained in Level 1, giving you the opportunity to work with a project plan once it reaches the project implementation phase. Topics will include exchanging project plan data with other applications, updating project plans, creating visual reports, and reusing project plan information
New Features in Project 2007Microsoft Project 2007 is a project management tool that lets you manage projects more efficiently and effectively. Track and analyze projects with a better understanding of the schedule and impact of changes. We’ll look at new features such as the ability to trace the source of issues by using Task Drivers to help determine the factor (such as task dependency, calendar constraints, schedule date, or vacation time) driving the start date of the task, so you can follow a chain of factors back to find the root cause of a particular delay. We’ll also see how you can view the impacts of a change. Project 2007 automatically highlights all items that shift as a result of the most recent change you make. And finally we’ll take a look at the budget field, where you can assign budgets to projects and programs.
